The Gay Daughter Pantoum

Your sister can’t know –

Don’t confuse the kid.

She probably knows already

You don’t like boys.

Don’t confuse the kid –

Sexuality is not fluid.

You don’t like boys

So dreaming of marriage is a sin.

Sexuality is not fluid

Your sister has our views.

Dreaming of marriage is a sin

So you can choose celibacy.

Your sister has our views.

You aren’t “gay;” it’s a temptation –

You can choose celibacy.

That’s my opinion.

You aren’t “gay;” it’s a temptation –

I wouldn’t choose this for my kid.

That’s my opinion:

Your sister can’t know.
