Gain

Mark 8:36

36 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?

 Gain

Is one man's gain

another man's pain

and so our reality?

It seems that over and over again

it robs us of our vitality.

Is it possible to gain,

without inflicting pain,

without hurt to another?

And if so how to restrain

existence at the expense of others?

I guess it is true

about me and you.

Why deny … because truth smothers?

Satisfaction so real,

that without it we feel

incomplete and a failure to others.
