A Future With Wildlife

She stands in the middle looking on

Surveying another queen's domain

Careful of the feline eyes that follow her

The royalty so briefly locked away

She is the ever-watchful caretaker

Of this spotted sovereign

Or so she dreams

As she reaches toward the future

Studies take up so much time

But still there's room for hope and aspiration

Looking forward to the day

Where her work with wildlife awaits
