Gramma told me that it's bitterness that eats the soul,
A bitterness one cannot control.
But it is He who shed light,
On all of those who were in a fright.

The songs were sung and voices heard,
It all began with just one word,

It rang fresh in the minds of all
who had been blind.

So let us stand,
holding hands,
And march forth,
To the land we used to call the North.

So all can hear the cry,
About how freedom shall never die.
