Freedom
Pack your suitcase, get on the plane
Barely four, barely knew my name
It's time to leave my home behind
In search of freedom and peace of mind
Brand new country, "paved with gold"
"There's money everywhere!", we've been told
But it is not the money that I adore
But the feeling of freedom I didn't have before
Seven long years and we took a test
Will we be citizens? Or be left with the rest
And today we live happy and free
With the American flag waving next to me
God bless this country that took away our strife
God bless this country that changed my life
This poem is about:
Me
My family
My community
My country
Our world
