Romans 7:5-6   New English Translation

5 For when we were in the flesh, the sinful desires, aroused by the law, were active in the members of our body to bear fruit for death. 6 But now we have been released from the law, because we have died to what controlled us, so that we may serve in the new life of the Spirit and not under the old written code.

 

Free indeed

 

Deliverance from the law and having died to what held us

Now I can a spiritual man being led by Jesus Christ

Through His Spirit placed in me I can now serve my Master

Reborn in newness of the Spirit into everlasting Life

 

Colossians 3:2-3        New English Translation

2 Keep thinking about things above, not things on the earth, 3 for you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

 

I died so I could live again, I’m hidden in my Lord

He is my life and my ”new” me. He made me fully whole

My life should now reflect what happened deep within

Most of Him and a little of me, the Savior of my soul

 

Colossians 3:5            New English Translation

5 So put to death whatever in your nature belongs to the earth: sexual immorality, impurity, shameful passion, evil desire, and greed which is idolatry.

 

Put to death iniquity and the sins that easily beset us

Through the power of my Lord Who now walks with me

The wrath of God will pass me by, and the victory is mine

Just through obedience to the Christ Who now lives in me
