Four Years of Volleyball
Four years of volleyball games,Four years of endless support, Four years of cheering on the stands,For me to play my favorite sport. As my high school career comes to an end,And I put up my shoes on the rack,I want to thank you— Mom, Dad, and Aaron— For always having my back. Thank you Mom,For sneaking in the gym hiding snacks you’ve made, For the cheering and yelling you’ve shamelessly displayed,For the amount of hours you’ve sacrificed unpaid. Thank you Dad,For rushing straight from work to the gym, no doubt,For cheering for me on the court— sometimes even shout,For telling jokes and giving me things to laugh about, Last but not least, Thank you Aaron,For the honey sticks that you make me chew,For giving some of your chicken nuggets too, For making me pepper all the time with you. Whether it’s the best game I’ve ever played,Or my feet feel like they weigh a ton,You’re always awaiting to say “good job,”Or at least, “You’ll get the next one.” Sixty-five games, Sixty-five opportunities. You took each and every one of them,To come and support me.
