Fossils

I left my heart in the land
when bones bled dry
and teeth from long fogotten
past
rip the tissue from the land

I left my heart in the sea
when whales could cry
and teeth from long forgotten
past
rip the salt from the sea

I left my heart in the sky
when props flew by
and teeth from long forgotten
past
rip the clouds from the sky

I left my heart in the history
when pages said why
and teeth from long forgotten
past
rip the fossils from the history

I left my heart
when, I do not know
and I am hungry for the long forgotten
past
that has yet to be known

WritingsOfTheHeart

Wow. Powerful and relatable. This speaks volumes to me, maybe not in the way you meant it to, but it was still powerful. Figure that I found this by Fate... Amazing.
