The Forgotten Children

Location

Hidden away

Scattered amongst the city

Are kids that yearn for parents

Pupils that yearn for a teacher

As they fantasize about school

Some of them yearn for comfort

The basic need of all survival

The feeling of being in safe hands

Along with love and friends

In the backs of hospitals

Are babies waiting for a mother

To rock them to sleep

And calm them when they cry

There are adolescents on the streets,

Yearning for someone

Someone to love, to love them

Permanently, for good

These children are set in horrible boundaries

Away from comfort

In the dread and thirst

For something better for them

They dream from sunup to sundown

Dreaming of mothers, fathers

Homes, warmth, you name it

Yet, until they get their utmost wish

They'll keep yearning

Until someone steps in;

Would you be the first to try the odds

Of making a person's life bountiful or not?
