Forgetting to Forget You

I miss the old days

The times spent with you

But friends finally told me

To find someone new.

'Cuz you sure have changed now

But I haven't left

My heart aches so much as

I hope for the best.

I've looked all around me

To find the right guy

But I'm too afraid that

He'd hurt me and lie.

I'd try and tell you

To hold me once more

But I'll save my words 'cuz

I know what's in store.

You'd tell me to leave and

Just shrug me away

I'd tell you to wait but

I know I can't stay.

I've tried to move on now

Forget about you

As every day passes

I remember the old you.
