Forget You

Forget you for making me think that I wasn’t good enough,

Forget you for leaving me when you knew I was going through something and things were

tough.

Forget you for allowing me to feel happy for the first time in a while,

Forget you for making me feel good, and then once you got me excited, for taking away my

smile.

Forget you for being like everyone else and for filling my head with hopes that were brining me

to a high,

Forget you being just like everyone else and for leaving without so much as a goodbye.

Forget you for making me think that for once you were actually different,

Forget you for making me believe that you were different from all of them,

Forget you for making me feel dumb.

Forget you for making me find the strength to start all over once again,

Forget you for making me believe that for once in my life, I had actually found a friend.

Forget you for making me believe that it was ever going to be more than that,

Forget you for allowing me to get excited and then allowing all of the feelings to fall flat.

Forget you for making me feel wanted for the first time in so long,

Forget you for allowing to feed those delusional thoughts, only to find out that I was reading the

situation completely wrong.

Forget you for pretending to be a nice guy,

Forget you for acting like you were respectful and shy.

Forget you for making me believe that the feelings you had for me were true,

Forget you for making me feel comfortable and for telling you everything that I was going

through.

Forget you for bringing back my spark for a short period of time, only to snatch it all away,

Forget you for making my dark skies become an even darker shade of gray.

Forget you for giving me another reason to cry,

Forget you for making me find another reason to question everything and to sit there screaming

to the sky as I shout at it ‘why?’

Thank you for giving me another reason to become the person that I want to be,

Thank you for making sure that you never get to meet this brand new version of me.
