Forget-Me-Nots

This is a story of forget-me-nots
Of things I learned but was not taught
And all I'm asking
Is for you to hear
Me
A quiet room and sullen gaze
My passion fading in that haze
And did you ever think to look beneath?
(See you now.)
I'm all your fears and some your hopes
A misconception strung and choked
You knot me up
And never smooth the scars

So when asked why
I jump at night
Reach for shadows
Long to fight
I'll smile at you

Indicate the stars
