Forbidden Fruit

You wake up today

Ready to fade away.

Order your coffee with a side of pain,

We’ve got stay for a buzz-kill game.

My talk show host needs to crawl

down the drain,

Back where the leeches came

Full of solitary shame.

I relish every bite of this forbidden fruit,

And tell myself that this is the truth,

yeahhh.

I relish every bite of this forbidden fruit,

And tell myself that this is the truth,

yeahhh.

I’m the dictator, the sarcasm queen.

I only ever wake up to be obscene.

See the contradiction, where I rot in between?

You’re an irritant and I’m your vaccine.

I relish every bite of this forbidden fruit,

And tell myself that this is the truth,

yeahhh.

I relish every bite of this forbidden fruit,

And tell myself that this is the truth,

yeahhh.

Why don’t you see

that we hate honesty?

Look me in the brain,

What do you really want today?

I relish every bite of this forbidden fruit,

And tell myself that this is the truth,

yeahhh.

I relish every bite of this forbidden fruit,

And tell myself that this is the truth,

yeahhh

yeahhh

yeahhh

The truth...
