Footprints

Location

Footprints in the sand,

the cold salty waves brush against my toes.

Colorful umbrellas are scattered across the white sand.

My sister and I splash the murky water and occasionally the waves sweep us under.

I come up breathing in the salty air and smile, marveling at the simple beauty of this place. Mom calls us in and we grab our bright colored towels, dusting them off and my sister laughs as the sand swirls in the air, gathering on our shoulders.
