Football

is a brotherhood

tested time and again 

we stand tall

get hit

and hurt

but we gather around

listen to the sounds

of our friends

our family

our fans

we are bonded by strength

as a family

we pray for our team

our coaches

even for the opposing team

and referees

brought religion

faith

and prayers to others

that we would have never met

Football

has given me

a glimpse of the real world

and made me

the man that I wanted to become

a survivor

a warrior

humble

yet proud

thankful

and forgiving 

confidence in front of others

pray openly for others

the grass stains

turf burns

become normal wear

we heal and learn

from countless hours of practice

and watching film

we learn dedication is key

and there's no I in team

we are a brotherhood

strong and true

a forever family

that I'm thankful to be apart of
