Flowers of Nigeria

Little flowers of Nigeria

picked ad plucked from their patch

a helpless bouquet of reflective eyes, eyes

half empty with tears

flowers desperate to reroot but the longer we wait

the more their sheered lives will shrivel

we shall embark

led by the entrancing aroma of freedom

the hopeful taste is pooling in the air

ready to flood the minds of all the worlds children

inspired by these cut wild flowers
