Flowers ... Beauty without and within

1 Peter 3:4

You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty

that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit,

which is so precious to God.

Flowers

Perfection in the making ... unusual flowers,

Living expectations … smiling in the light.

Lively drops of water … shielded from the showers.

Sitting at the table … rejoicing in their plight.

I wonder if they hear me … as I write in silence.

Do they understand … what I feel and touch?

In front of me rejoicing … in their beauty smiling

Upon the confusion… that is in me as such.

Do they ever reason … or think life is a burden?

Do they know sorrow and pain … or hunger and thirst?

Are they complaining … like adults in the sunshine,

Who fuss if it is too hot … or when the rain comes first?

Their glory is much greater … than any man can see.

They fill the expectations … of the Lord Who made them pure.

An example in the making … not to be used for any purpose,

But for love and adoration … forever to endure.
