Flawlessly Flawed

Do you see this skin just sitting around my bones?

I know you may not like it, but i have to call it home.

It's all pale and freckled, except for these little red spots.

Sporadically, it comes and goes but it never really stops.

Do you see these hazel eyes that can barely see you back?

I constantly need help from glasses and contacts.

They've been quite difficult to handle over these 17 years.

However, I don't let that make me reduce to tears.

I see these things day in and day out.

I walk with these feet and I talk with this mouth.

They may not be perfect for you, but they're perfect for me.

They are the only ones I get, you see.

I don't want to change because I was born this way.

Yes, I wear makeup, but the reason is not for you to say.

I've already found someone who accepts me for who I am.

Why would I let society tell me what I can't and can?

Do you hear this heart beneath this skin, or see this brain behind these eyes?

I don't try to hide my feelings behind a wicked fake disguise.

Being me is all that I will ever get to be.

Considering all the above, I'm pretty FLAWLESS to me.
