Flaming Blizzard

In naive youth and innocence, I loved.

My affection for those around ran true,

Although the deepest emotions were gloved,

Only to be found the day I met you.

Never before had I felt something quite

Like this; a smoldering passion unmatched,

Elation simmering brighter than light,

And completeness that before was detached.

With you, I encountered a frigidness

That froze my heart; a despair you revealed

To me, derived from repeated distress.

Unleashing blizzards formerly concealed,

Exposing cycles, fully consuming,

Of frozen, melted true love a’blooming.
