First Sermon

Location

The air was heavy

The stage lights were bright

All around the room

Eager faces listened for the mic

I stepped up to the pulpit

And placed upon it the word of God

I tenderly peeled open its pages

My next words would be for His laud

Did I have what it took

to change people’s hearts?

Doubts clung to my mind

Piercing it like whistling darts

Then I remembered

A promise He gave

That he would never forsake me

If his renown did I raise

Then with bold confidence

I cleared my throat

And with clear conviction

I preached what God wrote
