First to See the Moon

The Moon was shining like a charm
Not like I had ever seen
Before it was very calm
So its brightness was unforeseen

I could see the light fluctuating
How very strange!
The white shade was changing
But in a very short range.

I felt like giving it a hug
One so tight that it’d burst.
And then hide it in a place I had dug
So I could always watch it first.
