I lost my way

And finding the path back

was anything but easy.

Life got me down,

and proceeded to kick me.

It got to the point where I didn't want to get back up

I was close to giving up.

I wasn't trying to hurt anyone.

I was just lost.

My depression was swallowing me whole.

Waking up, keeping a fake smile on my face,

and making it through another day

Became my main goal.

It felt as though I was drowning.

Drowning in my own sea.

I tried to tread the wate

But it was getting the best of me.

I'm not sure how or when I found my way.

I still fight those feelings every day.

But somewhere along the way,

Things got a little brighter.

The weight on my shoulders got a little lighter..

It wasn't that life got any easier

I just got smarter

and I fought a little harder.
