Fighting Food

Food was always troublesome

I never had a favorite

My portions had to be smaller than theirs

This body needed to be thinner

Food became a chore

I could barely get the energy to cook

My portions kept decreasing

This body was getting thinner

People noticed this

I heard joy in their voice

My body had been too big before

This body was more successful

People congratulated and applauded me

I had done so well

My body was still decreasing

This was what they wanted for me

Stories of success

I joined the list

My weight decreased twenty pounds in two months

This was miraculous to them

Stories of concern

I didn’t belong there

My body wasn’t tiny to start

This is only a disease when you’re ribs stick out
