Fight the Fright

I drag myself,

With all my might

Out of the muck,

Wondering how

I was ever stuck.

And at that moment

I am struck

With a revelation…

It seems to me

That when you fight

The endless dark,

Eventually

You’ll find a spark

that may be the light

Or the song of a lark,

To lead you home...

You’ll come to notice

You burn so bright,

And find a way,

To turn the bleak night

Into a bright, sunny day,

Making all your fright

Seemingly fade to gray.

And that choice…

Is yours.
