Feelings of Love

I want to know, what being in love is like,

The feeling of butterflies about to strike.

The goosebumps you get every time you touch,

The overwhelming feeling of them being too much.

The tingles that surge all throughout my body,

I'm constantly looking at you; it's starting to become a hobby.

When I gaze into your eyes, it's like I'm gazing at the sun,

They captivate and mesmerize, defining me as number one.

You grab my hand so gently, and hold it firm yet calm,

My body starts to feel like jello, just by one touch of your palm.

You hold me close against you, the warmth of you with me,

It's comforting and stationary, the world just letting us be.

Love is not just a word, not just a feeling, but a dimension,

Every hour, every week, every year, an extension.

I want my love to grow, to change, to adjust,

So when an argument comes along everything doesn't combust.

I want someone to love me, for simply being me,

And when were around my friends they don't give him third degree.

I want them to like him, for all of what he is,

And even if they don't, he is mine and I am his.

I never talk about love, or complex things like that,

Cause I'm not sure what it is, or if the feeling is exact.

I'm not sure if I've been in it before,

And maybe that's a good thing because people don't respect it anymore.

Love is more than a feeling or a word, it's an action,

Something that means more than just one simple distraction.

I understand temptation is tough,

But when you're in love with someone, they're everything, enough.

I want to know that feeling, so I can hold it dear forever,

A feeling so pure and genuine it can be disguised altogether.
