Fear

There are nights where his arms find my waist,

Tightening around my body like

A snake suffocating its prey.

We lay there not daring to speak
because the silence has a way of creepy into the back of your mind and inviting it's friend fear.

Fear was always there you know
Up until I met you

See fear didn't like the fact
that I made other friends
No
Fear wants to be my only friend
Has to be my only friend

So fear woke me up with cold sweats
after bringing to me
the shady memories
I tried to block out

He wrapped them up
like a sick present
and left them on my door step
Forced my to open them

I tried to run away
But I couldn't get more then three steps
Because I realized that fear protected me
Fear is my friend
Fear kept the bad guys away

Until I met you

Ever since I met you
Iv been leaving fear at home
And fighting him in my dreams

Ever since I met you
I no longer look back every three seconds
And I stopped getting up
in the middle of the night
to make sure the door was locked

Ever since I met you
The man that resides in my closet
no longer bothers me
And the monster under the bed
seemed to go home

When you walked in
Fear walked out
