Fault

If I could tell you how I feel,
Do you thing I'd be here right now?
If I could tell you I love you,
Do you think I'd be scared right now?

You have fear and you are fearful.
"What happens if you fall in love, then I cut you loose?"
What will become of you?
And is it a fate you're willing to choose?

If I could kiss you right now,
Do you thing I'd be way over here?
If I could spend the rest of my life with you,
Do you think I'd be fearful right now?

Our distance is not solely one's fault,
But it is instead both our faults.
So scared of commitment, life, love and change,
We tend to leave the other lost, broken, scared and ashamed.
