A Father's Pain

I had a dream about my daughter last night, where could she be?

The choices that her mother had made were not up to me.

She was snatched from my life in the middle of the night.

If I had been awake, I would have surely put up a fight.

I've searched and I've searched and came up with this conclusion, that the

life I was building with her mother was only an illusion.

"Why me?" I asked, "What did I do to cause so much pain?'

If I don't get ahold of myself, I'm going to drive myself insane.

Oh! LORD forgive me, for we know not what we do.

We should have prayed more together and gave the glory to you.

I pray someday my daughter will come home and things will be the same, but

as I sit here with tears in my eyes, I only feel a father's pain.
