Father-Daughter Dance

Location

A night to remember, a spin and a glide
as we make our way through the aisle.
I was too young when you left my side.

I, dressed in white, like a new bride
blush as you twirl me with style.
A night to remember, a spin and a glide

with your flannel shirt flowing you decide
to dip me to the ground and hold me awhile.
I was too young when you left my side.

I, much smaller, tried to mimic your stride
as you sweep me through versatile.
A night to remember, a spin and a glide

with one last swing our bodies collide.
We stop for a moment and smile the same smile.
I was too young when you left my side.

The dance was over, a single tear cried
as I felt you slip from a life worthwhile.
A night to remember, a spin and a glide,
I was too young when you left my side.
