Father

I’m sorry father
Sometimes I forget to pray
And I don’t listen
Or trust you when you say
That you’ve got a plan
But you hold my hand when I stumble
Even in the valley of the shadow of death
Even when I run out of breath
Still you, pick me up when I fall
Still you, bring me back when I’m lost
Nothing can shake the God of creation
Nothing can pluck me from his hand
His love and mercy endures forever
And I am in his plan
For he is my father

Help me father
I am stubborn as can be
Sometimes its hard
To drop to my knees
I know the stories, all the right things to say
But in the end my mind always strays
Still you, pick me up when I fall
Still you, bring me back when I’m lost
Nothing can shake the God of creation
Nothing can pluck me from his hand
His love and mercy endures forever
And I am in his plan
For he is my father
