Farther Father Farther

Location

Dreams and memories fuse together,
all in hopes of getting me to remember--
remember him. How far he has gone!
I cling to every thought a young mind could grasp,
yet it is never enough to know him fully.

What lies in my brain is scarce and barren.
As each age has been bestowed upon me,
my memories dwindle and disappear.
Only to reappear in a faded dream,
soon to be lost upon waking.

Memories are the dreams we wish we had.
Dreams are the memories we lose in the end.
Farther, farther, farther lives my one and only father--
In the farther-- somewhere far and in between.
A stolen memory, a forgotten dream.
