Far Within The Depths of Sorrow

Far within the depths of sorrow

With hopes turned on their sides

Resting among the broken dreams

That’s where I do reside

Love songs and diamond rings

All the things young lovers do

They don’t know about broken hearts

They don’t know what they’re getting into

I torment you and wound you

Yet you stick around for more

I break you down and throw you out

And you come back like you did before

You jump in me, you fall in me

Then you try to change my pace

You look for me, you search for me

You will never see my face

Storybooks and fairy tales

All the lies that they will say

And if you don’t believe me

Then you should walk the other way

Because far within the depths of sorrow

With hope turned on their sides

Resting among the broken dreams

That’s still where I reside

Love songs and diamond rings

I will slip right through your hands

As much as you try to tame me

I follow none of your demands

You can call me selfish

Or you can call me cruel

But whatever you will call me

I am no different than you

Yet you still look for me and search for me

Among the morning dew

But as long as you will look for me

I will never look for you

Storybooks and fairy tales

You will never find me here

And perhaps maybe just for fun

I’ll completely disappear
