far off

words spill out of my mouth

and ooze from my skin at the

sight of a july day

spent in the sun

admiring the light slipping through the trees

and onto her skin

my thoughts end as scriblled entries on humid nights

the heat clinging to my lips

i can taste the salt from pool days behind me

i don't know where summer went

but the sound of birds out my open window

make me wonder far off
