Family

I am from a place trying to find truth
from ear buds and lies
I am from the smell of something burning in the kitchen
I am from the dead plant sitting on the table wishing it go watered
the huge tree near my home
I am from spending new years and Christmas together
from little sister to big sister
im from anger and rage
and from my dad yelling out of his anger
im from if you swallow that seed a watermelon will grow in you
from the Dora them song my mom thought it would help me learn more Spanish
im from Arlington and el Salvador
tortillas and tamales (yum)
my older sister my caring hero
im from a used to be family portrait on the wall
This poem is about:
My family
My country
