Family

Family? Not sure what that is these days

They used to be the people you looked up to, the ones you always praised

Now when they come in your house, they're a stranger

Honestly wouldn't be surprised if you felt like your life was in danger

When push comes to shove there's always that one family member who's there until the end

Nine out of ten that's the same one who's part of the family and a friend

The only time we all get together it seems is when someone dies

Even then we can't act civilized because a problem always starts to arise

The way society is getting, family is all you have so we need to do better

Even if that means a simple phone call or writing how you feel and then mailing it off as a letter

I've realized that at the end of the day, all I have is me, myself and I

With or without family, I'm going to be sure that I stay focused and whatever I do that I remain to fly high
