Fall From Grace

Crimson scars pucker bitterly

In scorn of sins once placed there

The blades of my shoulders

Meet blades of faith

And the wind rages.

Sweet havoc.

As redemption rings true

What remained

Of once envied wings

Splattered and spotted

With the blood of those

That died at my hand

Mingled

With scarlet tears of my own

Together they fall to the earth

As I cry for the fools

Cursed to share my fate

Slowly the sorrow and pain

Become tainted

And my tears dry

Replaced by laughter

The joy beneath

Soothing only my soul

That what's left

Beyond the shadow of a ghost

Having shattered

Under grieving sobs

Then crushed to non-existence

By insanity's cruel grip

I hear them say

They see it in my eyes

As they whisper

When my back is turned

Of a love,

A betrayal

A punishment

Steeped in the supposed mercy

Af a vindictive Father
