What stops the girl next to me from faking?

I’m joking half the time,

I act happy like everything is content

But, what if I’m not okay and neither is she...

Maybe the beautiful girl feels ugly,

What if she pumps her body with pills?

Is she faking...

Or is she just trying to get her mother’s approval?

Is he the most intelligent guy who gets it easy?

What if he looks at his notes for hours while it's so easy for others

All he wants is to graduate

Why do people make it their mission to rip his notes?

Maybe faking has become the norm,

It helps us to associate with the people around us.

We all are pretenders, trying to get through the day,

Society would be so different,

If we really knew what was going on in the lives of others
