From Fairytales to Reality

Love comes in all shapes and sizes

It’s a flower in the middle of December

It’s the song lyrics that you always remember

It’s singing at the top of your lungs

It’s the voice in your head saying you’ve found the one

It’s a baby’s laugh when you’ve had a bad day

It’s your mother’s voice telling you it will all be okay

It’s you in the kitchen with your grandma making cookies to share

It’s roaming around the house in nothing but your underwear

It’s passing by a homeless man and giving him a genuine smile while shaking his hand

It’s singing along with your favorite band

It’s more than the stories we’ve been told

About how Juliet finds her Romeo

It’s about the interactions in our day to day lives

That make us feel a little bit more human inside

This poem is about:
Me
My family
