Fairytales to Nightmares

Location

“Pretty as a princess”

That’s what they all say

Tuck you into bed with story time.

“Wish upon a star”

It was just a childhood dream

As you stare out the window at night

“mirror mirror on the wall”

Oh look at me,

So pretty, at my prime

But my dresses no longer sparkle

The wishing star is gone

And the mirror lay in the floor; a broken sight

Memories took the place of a prince

Chasing after me at night

While the clock withholds its chime

Where is my fairy godmother?

Can she reverse the hands of time

And take me back where my future looked so bright?

What happened to those fairytales?

Those "once upon a times"?

Because now my dreams are where nightmares climb.
