The Factory

Location

You teach us how to think,

you teach us what to know,

you teach us to be a friend,

but to also be a foe.

You teach us how to walk,

you teach us what to wear,

you teach us to be ourselves,

but only if we do not care.

You teach us how to feel,

you teach us what to stress,

you teach us to be a student,

but by the end we are a mess.

You teach us how to hide,

you teach us what to say,

you teach us to be workers,

but what have we learned about happiness at the end of the day?

Happiness will not buy me anything.
