The sun rises and the moon hides,
alarms sound and roll to bedsides
hairs put in place and teeth brushed clean,
faces painted to form a screen.
but I choose to paint my own face,
one that has an authentic base,
no more cookie cutter designs,
I'm fine drawing outside the lines.
I am what some may say is strange,
but no matter what I won't change,
If I sucum to the pressure,
all I become is an actor.
I vow to take pride in myself,
to see that I am my own top shelf,
what makes me flawless is this pride,
to not let myself be pushed aside.
