Eyes on Me

It's the same thing everytime.

A presentation is assigned.

Names starting with "A" are the worst.

I know I will be called on first.

And sure enough, without a doubt,

The teacher calls for me out loud.

I stand up on uneven legs.

"Do not fall," my mind pleads and begs.

I have frozen in front of eyes

That belong to hundreds of minds.

These gazes judge my every move.

"Just present already, my dude."

I relax at my mind's short quip

And wait for the sinking of this ship.

My presentation begins now.

After finishing it somehow,

I am back in my seat just fine

With a grade I know will be nice.

I was so sure that I would cry,

But eyes on me won't make me die.
