Eye Roll

Don’t pretend to care about me

I can see your eyes rolling again

Inside and straight to the back of your head

You think you’d have been bored already

What’s the matter? Are you scared to tell me?

Just say the same thing over and over

You don’t have to mean it

Lift that weight off of your shoulders

What’s the meaning of those sounds floating out of your mouth

Is it okay if I turn around

And go back to sleep again

I’ve been living a life awfully lonely

But that’s okay because the dice will roll my way someday

But for now, I’m just gonna think these words out loud

And maybe there’ll come a time when you’ll be safe and sound

Just say the same thing over and over

You don’t have to mean it

Lift that weight off of your shoulders

What’s the meaning

Behind those soft and gentle lies

And when you tell me

That everything’s gonna be alright
