Eye Lashes

Wed, 08/02/2017 - 19:28 -- reyerh

She rubbed her eyes so much

that the dark she saw every

Goddamn

Night

Turned like a frivolous little inchworm

Turned big

Wings

Kicked up the dust

In her head went everywhere

And NERO

Burned

As the fiddles

Romed

She rubbed her eyes so much

That her eyelashes fell

Down

And

Out

And her hands turned gold

and they said

What a faith she must have

Because GOD wouldn’t have

Given  her

gold

If her thoughts smelled like shit

Those eyelashes fell,

Down

And

Out

Where they fell,

   Who the hell knows?

All I know is, angel tears made them

Grow

And the new eyes of the Earth

OPENED

Up

And new eyes fresh from

No eyes

Looked at the world

And wept

For keeping your eyes closed for too long

Hurts when you open them again
