2 Peter 2:20    New King James Version

20 For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning.

Expression

The flesh and self are often the enemies of a Godly life

As true spiritual life has no way flourish in the light

Unless what is created like the old nature is denied

So through new life’s activity, the world is set aside

Our spiritual life shall be stunted if we don’t lose ourselves

If we're clueless without intention or experience in that

For who I am in reality, am I not what I will for in the end?

Am I not what I desire in my chosen selfish path?

Don’t I belong to the natural? Am I just anti-theatrical?

Against the life that God wills for me. Am I just irrational?

Self is where the problem lies. We’re our own worst enemy.

We’re looking on the outside for forces of destruction.

While they eat at the inside and poison our whole being

As it spreads through our entirety and takes over all instruction

As self thinks to control the will; he surely has another thing coming

Your will is owned by who you follow and whose instruction you take

Since the will is part of nature as is the mind and emotion

Inspiration is far removed from it and the flesh is now commonplace

The life of God cannot express itself unless there is an inspiration

And inspiration will not come unless the natural is denied

Activities of the created one are the greatest hindrance

If we have no intention to lose ourselves completely in flight
