Excite!!!

Your mouth moves but I do not hear.

I look at you but do not see.

Your words are rocks

Sharp and gray.

Muffled noise my ears do hear.

My vision blurs with yawned tears.

Your face like the desert plain;

Devoid of life’s expressions

All you say is a tunnel in my brain;

Enters and exits not wishing to stay

The next day comes and I sludge into class

Prepared to learn nothing and reminisce the past.

I open my book and look at the blurred lines

With joy you say “It’s Shakespeare time!”

My head jumps up with wary eyes.

Your face is glass with shifting light

Emotions surging and expressing

The wonders and talents that Shakespeare holds!

My ears devour the knowledge you bestow.

The tunnel collapses and nothing escapes

Joy in teaching will create

A student accomplished in words and thought.

Be expressive and your teaching will be a want!
