Everything Wrong with Me was Beautiful

And when you left I thought

You had taken

Everything

From me.

When you taught me to paint my nails

The color was too dark for you.

Wrong

It was then I stopped fighting to speak to you

Found myself entirely

Wrong

In time I began to bend

Began to shrink

Began to

Bow

To what you wanted for me

I was not enough

You found me

But I loved you

Yet I loved you

Still, I loved you

Even so, I loved you

When you resented

Me

I loved you blindly.

But I could not be bent

Completely

I was never going to be what you

  • Wanted

  • Dominated

  • Controlled

  • Overwhelmed

I

Was

me

Even after you beat me down.

And when you

left

I thought you had taken

And I found myself

BEAUTIFUL

And you did not deserve me.

And You did not deserve me.

And you did not deserve me.
