Everybody Has That One Thing

Everybody has that one thing, that

Very special thing that they hold dear.

Everybody has that one thing that

Reigns over their every thought

Yelling and screaming and requesting attention.

That thing, for me, is

Having a life to live.

In the past year, I’ve almost taken my life away three times

Never did I succeed, thankfully, though I came close once.

Grateful for the life I live

It seems awesome to me that

Something so precious is still here

And also so easily overlooked.

When you think of life, almost nobody thinks of it

Ending

Some do, my old self included in that.

Only, they are the ones that truly know how amazing and awesome life can be

Maybe, they don’t recognize it, but

Everybody knows—it’s that one thing for everyone
