With every heartbreak...

I loved you.

I lost you.

I was hurt and tears were flowing

And somehow I found greatness in a tragedy

I learned that when you love someone you begin to see who you are

Or who they made you become

I was a seed and you watered me until I blossomed into the woman that I am today

You showed me I'm a rose, beautiful from far but a scar to those who get too close.

You gave me a second chance to live

But most importantly a second chance to forgive myself

You think I'm a good person and I say I'm good because of you

And while it seems like life could only get worse

And all of the years spent are now down the drain

Remember the way that you infected me with your endless love

The kind that causes you to give life a second look, and a third, until you march to a new drum or word

Or how you believed in me and nothing is truer than a man who encourages a girl to succeed

I love how without your presence I’m forced to remember your voice

Stay strong, keep your head up high, you’re beautiful and my favorite…I love you

There's nothing about us that I would change

Because I lost

You are my greatest lesson

But because I loved

You are my greatest blessing.
