every child is born a poet (tribute to you piri thomas)

Location

tribute to: piri thomas (proud puerto cuban rican negrito)

i consider myself

a majority of one

similar to each other

but like our fingerprints

i got my own

you got your own

got your own

got your own

got your own

we all got our own fingertips

ain't nobody like the each of us

we're unique

i believe in a spirit

 there is a spirit

within each of us

i couldn't see god

but i finally figure out

that god was a smile in the face of a child

you got to have faith

if you don't have faith

you'll never going to make it

faith within you make you strong

make you brave

give you wisdom

i learn most of my wisdom

from women

begining with my mother

i learn wisdom from the men

had to be a big mouth

a made a mistake and

violence is what i learned

i came from violence

poetry became a way out

poetry is wisdom

poetry is spiritual

poetry comes from your heart

poetry comes from your soul

poetry is what you cannot tell other people

tell it to a piece of paper

and then that paper will go to somebody else

thats your inner feelings

that is what its all about brothers

feelings

good , bad, indifferent

your life is about feelings

remember that

you weren't born a criminal from your momma

that comes from the street
